Panaidis Eyewear Boutique operates for more than four decades, currently owning 28 modern stores in major shopping areas of Athens, in the islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, Lemnos, in Larissa and in Cyprus.
The company history began in 1977 when Panagiotis Panaidis, opened the first store, under the name PANAIDIS, in Marousi the major shopping destination of the northern suburbs of Athens at that time.
In 1982, he expanded the business by opening a second store in the same area. Within a few years, in 1986, the company launched its third store at the main shopping street of Chalandri,
Another retail store was added in 1991, in a privately owned building in the rapidly growing area of Melissia. That same year, the first store of the company moved into a privately owned building in the central market of Maroussi, which even today houses the company’s headquarters.
The company, in 1993, expands its business outside Athens, by opening a new store on the island of Lemnos. Following an ongoing trend, in 1999, PANAIDIS EYEWEAR BOUTIQUE innovates and launches the first store in Athens, exclusively for Sunglasses.
Year 2009 was the focal point of the company’s growth with the opening of two ultramodern stores in Kifissia and Kolonaki, commercial points of the highest importance. In these specific stores customers have the opportunity to try exclusive sunglasses and ophthalmic collections from global brands and unique designers.
2014 was another important year for the company, as two new stores are opening in Glyfada and in Psychiko. These stores reinforce the luxury philosophy of the company and they provide a high level of service. Also they carry the most famous brands of the market & exclusive collaborations.
During the first half of 2016 the new store of the company in the area of Pefki is opening, while during the second semester of the year the expansion of Kifissia store is taking place, which is now set in a modern space, a total area of 220 m2.
In March 2017 the first store out of Greek borders is opening, in Stasikratous, the most prestigious commercial street of Nicosia, Cyprus.
In April 2017 another store opened at Ermou street, the most commercial road of Greece right in the center of Athens. In May 2017 PANAIDIS EYEWEAR BOUTIQUE is launching a brand new store, within a space of 360m2, at Voukourestiou street, a place where all luxury brands can be found.
In April 2018, the company focuses even more on the touristic spots, by opening two more flagship stores on the islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Mykonos store is strategically positioned at the heart of the town on Matogiannia street and the Santorini store is located in Oia on the sunset street. During the same year, the opening of Piraeus store is also taking place.
In 2019 the expansion through the touristic market proceeds with the opening of two new stores, one at Rhodes Old Town and the second one at Adrianou street of Plaka. During 2019, a new commercial partnership begins with McArthurGlen Athens, at the area of Spata, with a new retail spot inside the mall. A similar partnership takes place also with Fashion City Outlet, at Larissa area, with the first optical store in the mall.
2019 is a significant year, as two new stores are opening at the areas of Chalandri and Glyfada, while still holding the initial ones. The relocation of Kolonaki store is also happening this year, which moves to an even more central spot, at the heart of Kolonaki square.
A new project begins during 2019, when PANAIDIS EYEWEAR BOUTIQUE decides to create a new brand name, ALOS EYEWEAR, specialized in resort retail, with luxury stores located in selective hotels of the country. 2 stores are opening in the Ikos Resorts, Corfu and Kos, and 1 more in Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel, at Vouliagmeni area of Attiki. These brand new stores include exclusive designer sunglasses collections and are characterized by luxury design and aesthetics.
2020 begins with 3 new stores at the area of Athens, in Omonoia, Aiolou and Plaka. Specifically in Plaka, the company is opening its second optical store at Adrianou street, reinforcing even more its image. In the meanwhile, a third retail spot is booked with the upcoming plans to be launched during 2021.
